“Are you looking for quiet, comfortable and welcoming accommodation – somewhere where you can enjoy truly relaxing and carefree summer holidays? Well, congratulations – you just found it!

When we were thinking of a name, we decided on “Lioxaris” (Greek for sun-graced) as the site is bathed in the warmth of the sun. And you will find us in Lourdata, a traditional village in the south of Cephalonia.

We have six newly built and fully-equipped apartments which are set in a traditional-style garden full of flowers. Our apartments have panoramic views of both Mount Ainos, the highest mountain on the island, and of the endless blue of the Ionian Sea.

Each apartment is 70sqm and is built on two levels, other than the ground floor apartment which is on one level.

To help you enjoy your stay, we offer lots of facilities, such as parking, wireless internet in the public areas and free daily cleaning services.

Our apartments are only about 600m from the sea, following the road downhill as our village is built around the beach like an amphitheatre. The beach itself has been awarded a Blue Flag for many years, and is one of the best beaches on the whole island.

Cephalonia - the island of contrasts with its diverse and spectacular natural environment - is waiting to be discovered! "

Each apartment is independent and is decorated in its own unique style - traditional, rustic, neoclassical, modern, youthful and Mediterranean. The bedroom, bathroom with shower and a small seating area are upstairs, and you can relax on the balcony and admire the wonderful view over the sea to the island of Zakynthos. Downstairs there is a kitchen with a table for eating, a living room and a second bathroom. The balcony leads out to the garden.

We can also provide breakfast, lunch or dinner for our guests and we are very happy to organise car or bike rentals. Also, if you want to explore the beauty of our island, we can organise either group or individual excursions.

For those of our guests who would like to visit our organic olive grove and the bottling works, and to enjoy tasting our excellent virgin olive oil, we can organise all this at no cost. Starting from our apartments, we suggest you follow the hiking route to the old Monastery of Sission, through the lush and naturally beautiful landscape which is full of the fragrant smells and unique colours of summer (takes about 1 hour).

Water-lovers can enjoy water sports on Lourdas beach and you can also explore pristine, secluded beaches by boat. The picturesque "Lithero" harbour is to the right of the beach, and if you continue on you will reach “Kanali” Beach.

The capital of the island, Argostoli, is about 16 km from our apartments.

Poros harbour, where the boats to Kyllini sail from, is about 22 km away. Sami is further to the east and ships arrive there from the Italian ports. The small port of Pessada is linked to Zakynthos with daily sailings in both the morning and afternoon. The airport is in Minies which is about 15 km away.

It is definitely worth spending some of your visit exploring top destinations such as picturesque Fiskardo, Agia Efimia, Assos, Skala, Lixouri and the nearby island of Ithaca. There used to be 365 villages in Cephalonia and, although there are less villages on the island today, there are still many fascinating villages to visit, each one with its own story to tell. The villages of Livathos, Kourkoumelata (a completely rebuilt model settlement) Svoronata (preserved settlement), Lakythra with the Kallithea district and Lord Byron’s Rock and Saint George Castle (the first capital of the island) are all within a short distance of Lourdata. The monastery of Saint Gerasimos, patron saint of the island, is on the Omala plateau, and the Robola winery, which is open to visitors, is nearby. Robola is Cephalonia’s local white wine, and we welcome all our guests with a glass of this traditional drink. The island has a rich gastronomical tradition, and you are certain to leave with great memories of our special dishes and desserts.

Our family taverna, “Dionysus” serves a wide selection of local dishes, all of which are cooked in a traditional wood-burning stove using only local ingredients. You can spend your summer nights relaxing, far from the sound of traffic, in our stone built yard where you can listen to soft music and the sound of running water. We also love to arrange frequent traditional Cephalonian evenings with singers, and everyone is welcome!
